Adding an IMAP email account to your iPhone is a straightforward process.

Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open Settings: On your iPhone, open the ‘Settings’ app.
  2. Go to Mail: Scroll down and tap on ‘Mail’.
  3. Accounts: Inside the Mail settings, find and select ‘Accounts’.
  4. Add Account: Tap on ‘Add Account’.
  5. Select Your Email Provider: Choose your email provider from the list, for an IMAP account, tap ‘Other’ to add your account manually.
  6. Enter Account Information: You will be prompted to enter your email address (and password. If you’re setting up the account manually, you will also need to provide additional server information like the IMAP Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server details. For this part your username is your email address. This information is usually available from your email provider’s support website or can be obtained from your email administrator.
  7. Next: After entering your account information, tap ‘Next’. Your iPhone will verify the account information.
  8. Select Services to Sync: Choose which services you want to sync with your iPhone, such as Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Notes.
  9. Save: Once you’ve selected the services, tap ‘Save’.
  10. Done: Your IMAP email account should now be set up on your iPhone. You can access your email by opening the ‘Mail’ app.
